The Bloom Fresco high chair reminds us a lot of the iconic seventies egg chair - it’s all smooth, contemporary curves, sleek materials and monochrome tones.

In fact, the Bloom about as un-baby furniture looking as you can get. This is a seriously designer high chair, and at around $400, it comes with a price tag to match. We tested it out to see if it’s worth the investment.

In spite of the price, the Bloom Fresco doesn’t really offer much more than competitors half its price. It’s upholstered in suede microfiber, sure, and comes in designer colors, with a padded harness, and has a large tray with a raised lip that does help catch spills. It’s also got a handy compartment for storing spare parts, or other odds and ends, and some of the most high tech adjustment mechanisms you’re likely to see on a high chair - but, given the price, it left us expecting more.

Assembly and Setup

Stripped down design like this does have the benefit of being easy to figure out, so assembly is easy, as you’d expect from the admittedly slick but minimalist design.

Adjustability

The Bloom Fresco is roomy, meaning you could use it up until school age, and there is a recline function, which allows you to use it for really young babies as well as older infants, toddlers and children. There’s also a pneumatic lift, and the whole thing swivels, so on the adjustability front, you probably won’t find anything more tech savvy in a high chair, which does make adjusting the chair really easy.

Ease of Cleaning

There’s something to be said for minimalism when it comes to cleaning. The seat pad wipes clean, and the tray is dishwasher safe, so you won’t have any headaches keeping the Fresco clean.

Look and Style

This is one beautiful, modern, designer chair. If you have a gorgeous house to go with it, and an eye for design, the Fresco is probably the high chair for you. If, however, you live in an ordinary house, you may find that this modern design marvel makes all your other furniture look dowdy and boring.
All in all, the Bloom Fresco probably one of the most stylish high chairs around today - but for the price, this chair is for parents where fashion and design is top priority.
