Fisher Price Healthy Care High Chair

When it comes to baby accoutrements, there are certain names that have been around for years. Fisher Price is certainly one of those, and with good reason. Every parent for the last 50 years or more has known and trusted the name, and it’s one of those brands that just inspire a feeling of security. The Healthy Care High Chair is no different, and at around one hundred dollars, it’s affordable to boot.

Features

5 out of 5 points

The Healthy Care High Chair comes in two models: the slightly cheaper Aquarium version, and the Rainforest design.

The Aquarium model features a baby operated toy tray with fish that swim, and baby operated music that plays for a short period of time, while the five minute ocean themed music function that is parent activated is a plus to moms who need something to distract the little one! Two toys complete the interactive play system, and since they are firmly attached, and fully washable, they’re up to most baby related problems, like landing on the floor, or getting covered in pureed carrot.
The more expensive Rainforest model offers a snap in toy, featuring rainforest animals and sounds, along with music and lights – very baby friendly – and a tethered toy, so no more pickups from the floor.
Other features like adjustable settings, padded washable seat covers, that are also made from wipeable vinyl, 5 point safety harnesses, lockable plastic castors to make moving a breeze, and protect your floors, and my personal favorite – dish washer safe trays, make this an all round winner on the features front.

Assembly and Setup

5 out of 5 points

As with most Fisher Price products, this high chair is fully assembled and ready to go. No complicated instruction manuals here, just open the box, and you’re pretty much good to go. It’s also nice and sturdy and stable, so you won’t be worried that your little one is going to tip it over when he or she is wriggling around.

Adjustability

5 out of 5 points

With seven height positions, and three reclining positions making a lot of difference in terms of adjustability, and, although my daughter is still only 9 months, we’ve interviewed moms with very large 15 month olds who can’t stop singing the praises of this high chair, so it does have a long service life. In fact, your little one should be able to use this high chair until they’re ready to sit at the “big” table with you.

Ease of Cleaning

5 out of 5 points

We’ve mentioned dishwasher safe trays, and wipeable seats, which make a huge difference where minor spills are concerned, but add a no fuss treated steel frame, and high quality plastics to the mix, and it’s easy to see why this high chair is so popular. We like the fact that everything is washable, and easy to clean. When you’re dealing with babies, there’s going to be mess, and having a high chair that accommodates that makes good sense. Coming from Fisher Price though, with their history in the baby equipment and toy arena, it’s no surprise these high chairs are practical and functional.

Look and Style

4 out of 5 points

Fisher Price has gone to a lot of effort to match the themes for these chairs – Aquarium and Rainforest, and it shows. The only reason they lose a point here is that there are some high chairs out there that integrate a little better into “grown up” décor, and if that’s an issue for you, you may not like the bright colors and patterns.

Other than that though, it’s a compact design, offers all the features you want in a high chair, and is backed by a name that’s been at the top of the game in baby products for decades. Chances are, your grandkids will use this high chair when they visit, and as far as value for money and functionality goes, you simply cannot go wrong with this choice.
