Buying Used Strollers, Car Seats and High Chairs

Graco Harmony High Chair

The Graco Harmony high chair is not Graco’s cheapest, nor their most expensive. It’s priced at around $70 - $80, depending on where you buy it, which makes it affordable to most, and since it boasts quite a few more features than its economy cousin, it’s a good choice for those parents looking for a slightly higher spec high chair, but still at a reasonable price.

Features

4 out of 5 points
The Graco Harmony has been designed to allow baby to eat at the table with you and your family, with its specially curved legs. It’s also got four reclining positions, so even the smallest babies can be accommodated, which is a nice feature. The one hand recline feature, and one hand tray slide operation of the make it easy to get baby in and out, and the convertible three and five point harness are great as baby grows, however, since the harness is not detachable, it could end up quite grubby after a while.
Wheels make maneuvering easy, although they don’t operate as well on thick carpet, but they are lockable. Another feature is that this high chair folds for storage, but be warned, because of the curved legs, it does still take up a lot of space, so you do need a large closet for storage.

Assembly and Setup

4 out of 5 points
Assembly of the Graco Harmony is relatively easy, with clear instructions, but it does require a little elbow grease to achieve.  Another concern is that some of the key joints are held together with only a screw and plastic fitting, so if there is a weak spot that would be it.

Adjustability

4 out of 5 points
The reason this chair loses a point, despite its four recline positions, six height settings, completely removable tray and convertible harness, is that it’s simply smaller than the competition. A narrower seat means it’ll be too small sooner. Other than that, we’ve got no complaints.

Ease of Cleaning

3 out of 5 points
Like most of Graco’s offerings in high chairs, the Harmony model features a vinyl seat, and removable dishwasher safe tray inserts, which makes big cleanups easier. However, even though the padded seat has less pronounced crevices than its competitors - minimizing the chance of food getting caught in the seat - it features a fabric ruffle that will get dirty when little hands play with it. Also, the non removable harness will certainly show dirt sooner rather than later, and will be difficult to clean.

Look and Style

4 out of 5 points
With its unconventional curved legs, and that ruffle, the Harmony high chair has a look you’ll either love or hate. If you like the look it’s available in a range of colors and prints, it shouldn’t be too hard to co-ordinate with your existing décor.
The Graco Harmony high chair is a functional, well made chair for the most part, and for the price, it’s a good choice, particularly if you’re looking for a chair that will fit under the table when baby gets a little bigger.
