This reviews what to look for in a used BOB Ironman Jogging stroller. Please visit our guide to How to Buy a Used Stroller for important tips on selecting which used jogging stroller is right for you.
The BOB Ironman stroller is an eye-catching jogging stroller and your morning or afternoon run with the baby will be satisfying for both. This stroller is made for the serious jogger at only 20.4 pounds and for runners is well worth the price. While new this jogging stroller runs about $350, used BOB Ironman jogging strollers can be found for as little as $200.
FEATURES
4 out of 5 points
The Ironman features the adjustable tracking system that is perfect for the genuine jogger. It allows you to track straight with just one touch with one hand, making your run much safer with baby. The hand brake will allow you to stop at a moments notice or slow you down when going down hill, and the tires are thinner than most joggers and have hubs and spokes looking much like a bicycle wheel. In fact, if anything ever happens to them a bicycle shop can do the repairs. The only drawback here is that the inner tubes are not thorn resistant and may blow if they are pierced. Thorn resistant inner tubes are inexpensive, however. If you are training, this is the stroller for you; it will give you a solid work out.
SAFETY
4 out of 5 points
The BOB Ironman is equipped with a 5 point padded safety harness that is adjustable for any size child. The back foot brake won’t let this stroller take off unless you want it to. There is a wrist strap that makes sure your baby won’t get away from you at any time.
MANUEVERABILITY AND RIDE
4 out of 5 points
The Ironman is made for a fast pace over paved surfaces or on the track. Its high pressure tires make it easy to push even with a heavier child inside. The BOB Ironman’s ride is smooth and streamlined for your child and they will love to go out in their Ironman.
COMFORT
5 out of 5 points
The suspension on the BOB Ironman is superior and can be adjusted for a light weight infant to heavier toddler to give them a comfortable ride. The sunshade is adequate to cover your child from the harmful rays of the sun. The seat adjusts to near reclining so that your child can have a nap as you whip around the track. If you have an older, taller child this might not be the jogger for you. Taller children seem to be a little cramped in this stroller.
DURABILITY
4 out of 5 points
The strong aluminum frame and nylon fabric make a used BOB Ironman a durable product. We believe that you will get years of use out of this stroller.
WEIGHT AND FOLDING
4 out of 5 points
The BOB Ironman weighs 20.4 pounds and is a heavier stroller, but will carry a child up to 70 pounds with ease. It features a one handed folding system so you can hold on to your bundle of joy while folding the stroller. If you wish to pop the wheels off to store in a more confining place that is no problem as they have the quick release feature.
STORAGE
3 out of 5 points
The Ironman has two internal pockets, one in the back of the seat, and a cargo storage basket under the seat.
EASE OF CLEANING
4 out of 5 points
The fabric is a bit lighter than on the other BOB Strollers being made of nylon ripstop. It is easy to clean and durable, just wipe it down with a damp cloth or you can just hose the stroller down and let it dry.
LOOKS AND STYLE
4 out of 5 points
The BOB Ironman comes in an eye catching racing yellow and red, or you can opt for the more conservative Navy and Cool Gray. Its compact style and big thin wheels set it apart from other strollers.
