Buying a Used Bugaboo Bee Stroller

This reviews what to look for in a used Bugaboo Bee stroller. Please visit our guide to How to Buy a Used Stroller for important tips on selecting which used stroller is right for you.

Your baby will look snug as bug in a rug (or should we say bee) in when you buy a used Bugaboo bee stroller.  The sturdy lightweight frame and foam filled tires will give your little one the most comfortable ride around.

FEATURES

3 out of 5 points The Bugaboo Bee has a large water repellant sun canopy that should shield your baby’s eyes from the rays of the sun and the rain cover will keep them nice and dry if a shower should pop up while out on a walk. The rain cover is separate and has to be attached every time you need it instead of folding back into the stroller somewhere - and this can be a bit of a hassle when you’re trying to attach it in a sudden rain storm. The Bugaboo Bee’s seat is reversible, a wonderful feature if you want to look at your baby and see what they are doing all the time, or if you want them to look out on the world.  The only problem with it is that it might be a little difficult to take off and switch around as the switches are a little tight and hard to push.   The handle bars are adjustable, a great feature when one parent is tall and the other not so tall.   An instructional DVD is included with your stroller that will answer all of your questions and there is a limited 2 year warranty.

SAFETY

4 out of 5 points The Bugaboo Bee is equipped with a 5 point safety harness to keep your little one in place at all times.  The foot brake will keep the stroller stopped until you release it and are ready to go.  The wrist tether will assure that your precious one will go no where unless you know about it.

MANUEVERABILITY AND RIDE

4 out of 5 points This stroller is lightweight but don’t let it fool you - unlike other lighter weigh strollers, maneuverability is superb with the adjustable 6” foam filled rubber tires that swivel (front only) for ease of movement and ability to negotiate corners.  The four wheel suspension will make junior feel like he or she is riding on air. Given that it is a lighter weight stroller, be sure to inspect it carefully as a used Bugaboo Bee may be prone to more broken parts than sturdier models.

COMFORT

4 out of 5 points The backrest of the Bugaboo Bee can be moved in 4 positions for the ultimate comfort of your baby and the seat bottom can be adjusted to the length of your child.  There is a foot rest for when your child is tall enough to reach it and prevents them from dangling their feet.

DURABILITY

4 out of 5 points The Bugaboo Bee frame is made of aluminum and is proven durable.  The fabric is washable and hard-wearing as well.

WEIGHT AND FOLDING

4 out of 5 points The Bee has one-piece foldable design that is easy to accomplish. The stroller itself only weighs 17 pounds and it can carry a child up to 37.5 pounds.

STORAGE

3 out of 5 points The Bugaboo Bee has under seat cargo storage has a 4.2 gallon capacity.  This is the only storage for this stroller and a large diaper bag might be a little too big for it.  You can get a diaper bag that is sold separately to hang on the handles if you would like, but storage is a drawback of this otherwise good stroller.

EASE OF CLEANING

4 out of 5 points All fabric is machine washable and the aluminum frame can be wiped down with a damp cloth.  Just unsnap the fabric and throw it in the washing machine and line dry (do not put in the drier) and make sure to remove all the Bee’s foam stuffing before washing.

LOOKS AND STYLE

4 out of 5 points A used Bugaboo bee is a compact, cute stroller that comes in many different colors including yellow, red, dark khaki, blue, pink and black.  You can purchase separate sun shades in different colors to customize the look a little better.  It unquestionably has more style than most cheaper umbrella strollers but it should for the cost.  When new this stroller would have set you back about $450 to $500, but used Bugaboo Bee strollers can be found for as little as $300 in good condition.
